Everyone gives CCP crap for the fact that once every few months they too get hit by the Microsoft Patch. Patch the server, bounce the server find that Microsoft has patches to their patches, rinse repeat. It's a cluster with multiple nodes so multiply what you do you for you none Mac machine by X and you get the idea of why CCP takes longer than normal.
P.S. As a system becomes more complex the level of testing to reduce defects because longer and longer. There is no way to perform end to end testing and therefore it should always be at the forefront of everyone's mind that any and every product will be delivered with bugs. On that note save the tears for the carebears. |

I completely agree with you. Scotty's first law of engineering, take the time you think it will take to complete the job and multiple by a factor of 1.5 to ensure that, one you have time to complete the work before the expected timeline, and two to look like the god of engineering on the starship. Most people will tell you this is called under committing and over delivering. No matter how many times this is explained it always feels like it falls on deaf ears.
